Dream Interpretation
A Tool for Life Improvement
Learn to Interpret the Meaning of Your Dreams
People have tools for many things - tools for repairing vehicles, tools for home improvement, tools for being successful on the job, tools for studying. There are also tools that are used for life improvement - tools that are available to assist you in changing or enhancing your life. Some tools have to be purchased - while others are freely and readily available if you learn to recognize the tool and learn to use it effectively. One such tool that can be used to improve your life is dream interpretation.
Dreaming is a natural part of the sleep process - everyone sleeps; therefore everyone dreams. Dreams are the mind's natural tool for processing the overload of information that cannot be processed by the conscious mind during the waking hours. Your mind is a busy thing - it never stops, even when you are at rest. Your mind takes in so much information during the day that some of it has to be stored away to be processed at a later time - and this occurs when you dream.
Learning to remember and interpret your dreams can be a very useful tool. Sigmund Freud believed that dreams are a way for you to look deeply into your inner self - a tool that can help you to recognize your true hopes, desires, and feelings. However, in order to use this tool effectively, you must be willing to be totally honest with yourself. You must be willing to face the fact that you may discover things about yourself that are not pleasing. The only way for you to change you life is to actually understand your deepest feelings and desires - both the good and the bad.
Dream interpretation is a tool that can be used to bring about unity between your mind, body, and spirit. Your subconscious mind is used to store all of the emotions that you do not deal with immediately, as well as the signals that your body sends to your brain. As you sleep, your conscious mind is at rest, which allows the stimuli stored in your subconscious mind to surface so that you can process and analyze this information.
Let's look at an example of how this works. Suppose you work at a candy factory. You work in the lollipop department where you make lollipops of many different colors and flavors. Once the lollipops are made, they travel on a conveyor belt past the lollipop inspectors who watch for defective lollipops. At the end of the conveyor belt, the lollipops fall into a barrel. The inspector is focused on finding defective lollipops - not what will happen to the lollipops once the barrel is full. The lollipop inspector is your conscious mind - focused only on the task at hand.
When the barrel is full, it is moved to a different area. In this area, the lollipops are sorted and bagged. Some will be placed in bags containing an assortment of lollipops, while others will be sorted by color and flavor to be bagged separately. The sorters perform the same task as your dreams - sorting and processing the data that was stored in your subconscious mind (the barrel) while you focused on the task at hand.
Just as the factory workers, each part of your mind has a specific job to perform. Your conscious mind focused on the most important stimuli, while your subconscious mind stores away everything else. At some point, your subconscious mind fills up - and the data must be sorted and used in order to make room for the information that will need to be stored the next day. This is why you dream.
In order to use dream interpretation as a life improvement tool, you must learn to remember and interpret your dreams. If you learn the meaning of your dreams, you can use this information to make changes within yourself that allow you to have better relationships with family, friends, coworkers - and even a better relationship with yourself. You have to remember that life improvement begins with yourself - you can't improve your life by changing others around you.
Your dreams are a tool that can be used to take a look at the real you - learn what your true feeling and desires are. Once you have accomplished this, you can take use this knowledge in your waking life as a tool to improve every aspect of your life. You will have the power to improve your relationships, take the steps necessary to find the career that will really make you happy, and learn to face any obstacles that may cross your path. Learning the meaning of your dreams can help you to change your life for the better - and can help you to be the best person that you can be!
